Sébastien Ogier has won the WRC Rally Mexico after the race was shortened due to fast-changing travel bans in connection to the global Covid-19 virus outbreak.
With the cancellation of the final day of stages, which was announced on Saturday, the event reached 75 percent completion, and Ogier who led by 27.8 seconds, lifted his sixth Mexico title and his first for the Toyota Gazoo racing team.
Ott Tanak for Estonia came in second after delivering an impressive comeback drive to leapfrog Teemu Suninen by a 10.1 second advantage.
The next round of the rally, which was scheduled for April in Argentina, had already been canceled due to travel bans resulting from the global Coronavirus pandemic.
The United States is imposing new restrictions on entry from midnight on Monday, and US airlines are planning more flight cuts. Some European countries have also gone into lockdown.
